Jupiter has a nice rack

It's a shame the studios changed the rating of the film from R to PG13, even with the film flopping. Initially there were a scene where we see Jupiter's rack.

reply

Do you have some proof to back that fairytale up?

reply

I had read the original script

reply

Original script means nothing, Sin City had nudity and Jessica Alba has it in her contract to not do nudity, so she didn't, what this means there never was a scene made of Mila naked filmed, simply because it was in the original script.

This film's lack of sexuality was a mistake.
We have two of Hollywood's sexiest stars and the Wachowskis didn't take advantage of this.

Where did you get the script?

Thus was discussed by many early on

"Kunis has a nice rack" surely must has been, in the entire history of the internet, it's a certainty.

"Jupiter originally was to have a nude scene" certainly hasn't.

The OP should elaborate.

reply

No, lol, not that... Jessica Alba refusing to do nude what was in the script was talked early on concerning Sin City.

Oh, alright. Rachael was questioning the OP regarding this movie's script though. 😀

reply

That's not really the question. I'd like to read the script, so would like to know where the OP got a copy. I doubt they have truly read the script so would be shocked and amazed if they were to reply with proof/a link to it.

I felt the original post was trolling, no more, they got nothing.

That's what I fully expect to be the case, but I really want to get my claws on that script. Can't blame a girl for trying :P.

Hi, thanks for the link. That's actually a transcription. I'm mainly after the script because it would a.) include deleted scenes and b.) include additional descriptions clarifying characters' motives and thought processes. I have sections of the shooting script, but am looking for the entire thing. I may be in for a long wait, however.

Ah ok... I guess one could Google if any nudity was originally shot for the movie, I'm fairly sure that's complete BS though... the movie is obviously intentionally PG-13.

Also there are no Google posts concerning any intention to originally be R rated or have nudity... also how do you trust someone who makes a post called "Jupiter has a nice rack"?

Oh yes, that's almost certainly BS re: Mila's having a nude scene. However, the parts of the script I have suggest that there was originally supposed to be darker/more graphic content. Jupiter was meant to look out over the refinery and see piles of dead bodies waiting to be refined into RegeneX, for example.

Oh, that's possible... sure... that whole plot line is reminiscent of Cloud Atlas and Soylent Green.

It's just a red spot.

reply

It would have been a better movie to be sure with "darker/more graphic content" to be sure .... nudity (though I am not against it in any way in movies) would not be in place in this movie and/or needed to further the story line. It would have appeared to just be gratuitous.

This could have been a great movie - and I suspect there was initially a darker treatment that got nix'd to try to appeal to a younger audience as it was seen the success of other young adult/teen sci-fi films. But failed to appeal to anyone.

reply

I think this movie was originally suppose to have a R rating. But some silly studio executive wanted the PG-13 version.
I believe this is the real reason for the delay.
I always thought there is something missing in JA. I think the studio edited out scenes that would tigger a R rating and ruined the movie by doing so.

reply

Nah, no studio is crazy enough to greenlit a $175M original R-rated picture today.

This had PG-13 written all over it since before filming even began when we first heard it would be an "almost $200M film"..

Australia has lost a $200 million film by the makers of The Matrix movies that would have employed 2000 people, because the Federal Government so far refuses to increase its location offset rebate beyond a one-off boost to The Wolverine.

[...]

One source said: "It would have been bigger than The Wolverine; 2000 people – it was almost a $200 million film. But the government didn't react quick enough or wasn't interested in extending the one-off, so the film's gone".

Search for original R-rated close to $200M budgeted films here:

I think in it at best you'll find ~$100M pictures (eg Django Unchained) but more often than not ~$65M pictures (eg The Matrix).

reply

No amount of additional graphic content would save this film from itself.

The problems aren't in lacking gore or nudity, the problem with this film is the childish core that it is written around.

Making it R rated would still just be the same bad movie but with boobs and more blood

I don't mind more boobs and blood, but they don't fix bad storylines

I can't believe you're discussing, much less longing for a script, for such a stupid film. One ADULT critic stated:

User Reviews

One star out of ten.

The above five rating it got was way too generous.

Film reviews are for morons who are to afraid to take a chance on entertainment, and need to be spoon fed what to watch. All but a few film reviewers are opinionated blowhards, who wouldn't know objectivity if it was slapping them in the face!
