Why wasn't the FBI closed after his death?


It seems Hoover created that agency only to gain power and fame, while instilling fear in the population.

Because watergate happened right on top of it and felt--who was supposed to have been the next in line to be director was leaking stuff to the Washington Post from the inside as deep throat.

he would not have been able to leak material as deep throat if it were closed.
