A rare point in the movie I didn't like; Hennessy's exact plan seemed a bit murky and unclear the more it was revealed.
shareNo, it wasn't murky at all.
He explicitly pointed out that they were to bomb financial institutions and British banks but NOT civilians.
The idea was to show that the IRA still had teeth but weren't merciless killers or terrorists. That was the whole point of the passionate speech he gave in the boardroom to the other chapter leaders, trying to convey to them that they can still make their points but not by killing innocent women and children.
