Why are people impressed with the military aspect/accuracy?

I'm reading reviews from people about this film and how impressed a lot of people are with the military aspect and firing scenes. What are you impressed with?

1. You have ex Navy SEALs using a modified M14 as a sniper rifle? That would pass as interesting to say the least. They're not using a Barrett M95 or Mk12? They went out of their way to use the M14? Again, interesting.

2. You have the cartel engaging in sniper fire with what I'm almost certain was Sig SG 556. Beautiful rifle. Sniper capabilities. Again, the talk was about having "two miles of coverage". Like bringing your Dad's '88 Corvette to race a new Viper.

Good luck with either rifle. Neither are heavily popular amongst ex military. The M14 is nice, but wow.

Then Oliver Stone is going to lead viewers to believe that a team of ex SEALs would absolutely botch shots and panic like little girls in the first end sequence? These are ex SEALs or kids they yanked out of BUD/S?

You have your main character get shot by a 556 in the knee and he continues running? Hahaha!! Is that before or after his leg falls off?

Who was the liaison to this film? Brutal. Absolutely brutal.

In his next film Oliver Stone should have DEVGRU go up against a street gang from Harlem and lose a gunfight as well. Jesus christ.

Past that, dug the flick.

Well as far as the end sequence, most except for perhaps the types of guns used. It can be chalked up to it being a dream imagined by O. I don't expect the way she imagined things to be played out in exact realism.

Who was the liaison to this film?

Who pays attention to the liaison? His job is to be an impressive-looking name in the credits to validate the *beep*

What? The M14 is still being used today as a marksmen rifle. What's wrong with that? Are you saying that you have first hand knowledge what kind of rifle a seal would pick for long range firefight? I think the M14 is an obvious choice.

And the guy that got shot in the knee...how do you know where he got shot? He was wearing pants. It could have gone through muscle for all you know. It was definitely near the knee, I'll give you that, but why would his leg fall off? The .556 is a small fast round. Not really going to blow a leg apart.

How do we know the ex SEALS botched shots? The cuts were so fast it was hard to tell what was going on. They hit their targets in a few of those quick cuts. How is it you feel they panicked? They tried to run from the police. What were they supposed to do, engage them? Out of all the crap that was in this movie why did you find fault with these things that really have no fault?

Not everyone is impressed, for all the reasons you noted and more.

But if your typical viewer who is used to "Too Fast Too Furious" movies see's this stuff, it's almost like a Larry Vickers documentary to them.
