threesome relationship
I could never share like that no matter how much I liked a chick. That's really *beep* weird.

shareif you actually listened.. it wasnt about how much they loved her.. its about how much they loved and trusted each other.. the two guys.

"if your listened"....easy lit...easy...
op, of course...that's why it almost never happens in RL and when it does, it's not with the hottest, mensa types..it's trashy messes that usually ends in one person being killed :)
it is better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it
They weren't so much "sharing" the woman as allowing her to participate. These dudes were 100% gay for each other. I'm not interpreting anything, it's said in the movie. They're in love with each other. They love each other more than they love her. Elena proposes the idea, and in the end O confirms it. There's no rainbow flag or hot MM action, but yeah, it's a gay movie.
shareI basically interpreted it as they "used" her to fulfill the needs they could not get with one another. There is certainly credence to the idea that they are emotionally "in love" especially considering Chon doesn't even have as deep a relationship with the men with whom he served in Afghanistan. It all really hinges on how a person defines "gay" though; they had a deep love for each other (moreso than O as you mentioned) but it wasn't a homosexual/physical attraction either. They basically used O as their sexual outlet for their unique relationship.
This is probably the only reason the relationship was so successful as to the original topic. There is none of the traditional jealousy in the MFM triangle when the men have the strongest bond of the three. But in general, it would seem to be pretty tough make a go of it for an extended time at least in my opinion.
Read the book then watched the movie. Didn't think about the homosexual tones until looking on this board. Now rewatching *DING*
shareNo, O was just a hole to fill. Neither one really loved her. She was just a participant.
I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.
I think they both really loved her but loved each other more. I agree she was a participant in their relationship but was loved by both guys. Why else would Ben start killing people to get her back or would they take her when they planned on disappearing? I think I could totally do a 3 some relationships with those hot asses as long as it was like in the movie- no jealousy, just lots oh lovin'
shareit was a triad relationship.
she was a whole person, and the two men make one whole man because the each has what the other lacks.
As per O.
Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...share
As a person in a Poly relationship, (and is not a trashy mess) I liked the portrayal and know many triad relationships that work great ,included.
I did not enjoy the second ending, which seems to be a cop out by Stone to show he doesnt advocate Poly relationships.
