Man on Fire, anyone?

I couldn't help but thinking about the 2004 movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington while watching this. That movie too is about a ex-special forces soldier With an addiction issue taking on an entire Mexican cartel/syndicate who have kidnapped a girl he was supposed to protect.

John Travolta's role as a doublecrossing law enforcer is very similar to that of Mickey Rourke in Man on Fire. Both arguably cameo roles by star actors.

They even do set a man on fire in this one.

I am not yelling ripoff!, because it isn't, but could this movie be doing homage to Man on Fire?

I liked Man on Fire better.

This was a weird comedy.

I can't see too many similarities myself. I didn't think about MOF whilst watching this.🐭

Thought of that also, Man on Fire was sooo much better.

Apart from a violent Mexico background, not too many similarities for me.

It's that man again!!
