because ders is dellusional and believes he is the classiest of the group. most likely due to his upbringing. so he thinks he's above karl

I've never seen ders eat garbage lasagna or make a home made stink bomb to sell to kids, or sell steroids that were really pop rocks and PCP. So maybe he is better than Karl, but everyone is, so...

because Karl is a would-be interloper; desperate to be part of the group. Ders is territorial and only comfortable with Adam and Blake. on some level, Ders might also see Karl as competition. like, if Karl were to replace someone in the group, it'd be Ders.
