How do you rank the episodes of Black Dynamite Season 1?

From greatest to less so great. I didn't include the pilot since I didn't see it, but feel free to place it in your list as well if you did.

1. A Crisis at Christmas or The Dark Side of the Dark Side of the Moon

2. Jackson Five Across Yo' Eyes or Just Beat It

4. Panic on the Player's Ball Express or That's Influenza Sucka!

dont think i can rate the episodes without a few more viewings but i think the last two, Panic on the Players and Crisis at Christmas were by far the funniest so far this season.

I have only seen three so far, the Christmas was the best followed by Sunset Strip and Players Ball. Love the show!

They do get better as they go along. Extended involvement of the Whorephanage gets bonus points.

The pilot's only 11 minutes but they do soooo much with it, I'd have to put it as #3, purely for JB Smoove. This show hasn't had an unfunny episode yet.

I think they've gotten better each episode. 1 and 2 didn't do to much for me, but Paul Mooney in taxes and death was awesome. The monkey from episode 4 was brilliant, but Player's Ball had so much in it. I figured it was an homage to the "between the wasteland and the sky" episode of Trigun, but the police station, the Sun Tzu fortune cookie (instead of saying in bed, say when fighting the flu), with all the pimps from the movie and Captain Kangaroo.

I'm gonna have to rewatch the series at some point, because I'm sure there is a ton of stuff I missed (much like the movie).

Usually shows dont hit their stride until season 2 and even then theres still time for improvement.

I find the whole 1st season is usually a pilot.

I'm actually a bit disappointed how the series turned out. Not that I don't like it, I do. It gives a good laugh and some of the jokes are quite clever. The thing is that the pilot episode was 100 times better imo.
I don't know if I can say exactly what the problem is, but most of the episodes feels really rushed.

Maybe I just had too high expectations after the pilot.

I didn't get into the pilot much because him fighting puppets didn't make any sense. I thought the best parts were "I never told nobody this, but I used to be a children." his dad's speech, and trying to get the secret recipe (reminded me of Golgo 13 - he would lay on his back the whole time and the women would tell him his the best lover they ever had).

I agree that the pacing is uneven (and I remember thinking the same thing about the movie), though the recent Elvis episode seemed slower (maybe it was the musical number). It was a good episode, though their Kissinger cannot top the Venture Bro's w/his magical murder bag.
