Loved the movie and the pilot cartoon episode. The animation in the pilot was excellent. Not so much in episode one though. Black Dynamites lines are still
the bomb.

It's a fairly common phenomenon in animated shows that the pilot has better animation than the rest of the series. See the TV Tropes entry for "Animation Bump".

The Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy animations got better with time.
shareThe reason why those shows upped their standards, was because they became huge hits and could afford the time and effort.
Most shows are lucky if they maintain standards throughout their run, even if only a few episodes are a miss.
Pilots have always been more smooth, to attract viewers and/or investors or licensing people.
