**SPOILER** question about the ENDING ...

She brought up going to the Cuban place she was told they used to go to, but he said "Let's try some place new."

Does that mean he/she/they were gong to stop trying to bring back the past and just start new?

I thought going to old diggs was a good idea to help repair her memory but in the epilogue it states she never did get it back so I guess they had to go with that.

I think that's a good interpretation. Besides, it did not seem like trying to resurrect the past was meeting with much success. Let's face it, if that beach date did not bring back some spark of recognition, it's doubtful going to their once-favorite deli was going to do it.

I think the ending of the film stated that the film which is inspired by a true story said that the woman never regained her memory. I guess in the case of Paige, it was easier for her to start fresh since it was rather difficult for her to regain her old memories back.

Not just easier, but pretty much the only way.

I think that's exactly what they were trying to imply: that instead of any more of anybody dwelling on anything that had happened in the past, since he was now the only one who would ever be able to remember anything of that past, that they would instead start trying to create new memories that both of them could share, and rebuild their relationship in that way... which, if the real couple on which this flick was based is any indication, apparently became a success.

And, I might add, was what I had been hoping they would try to do in the first place, instead of everybody trying so horribly hard to fight over who got to force feed her the version of the past that they all wanted her to relearn.
