"A Good Day to Die Hard" is rated R.
shareWhat a stupid premise. If you added F words back in to Live Free it wouldn't make it a better movie. Conversely, if you took out the F words from the original Die Hard, it would still be an awesome movie. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, ever walked out of Die Hard in 1988 and said, "That was the best movie ever because of all the F words!!"
shareI understand what you're driving at, but I disagree. I would like an R-rated movie to stay an R-rated movie. I don't have any problems with a movie being conceived as a PG-13. The Fast and Furious movies don't need the R. In fact, I'd argue that an R-rating would hurt them. That level of language and violence isn't appropriate for the kinds of movies they're meant to be. However, I do have an issue with an R-rated movie being compromised for a lesser rating. Let it be what it's intended to be. If a movie is dealing with R-rated material then let it deal with that material. If a movie is aiming to be a lighter PG-13, don't try and toughen it up with some ADR swearing and digital blood puffs.
