Theatrical > Extended Cut...
So I've only seen this movie once and it was the extended cut. I have to say, I enjoyed it overall but something did seem missing. Well, last night, my Brother came over to see this for the first time and I decided it best to show him the theatrical, due to it being a new experience for me, And the verdict? WAY BETTER with the inclusion of John's daugher!!! Die Hard's typically have a good dose of humor in them and she provded a much needed "lightening" up of the tone. The beginning scene and their dialog about "not making things worse" was pretty funny and during the phenominal chase scene, I felt the phone call, especially the shot of John saying "Oh, Im looking at him right now" was hilarious and made it a MUCH funner scene without sacrificing the excitement.
The chase being shortened was an improvement as well, because I feel it dragged on just a bit too long making it feel monotonous after a while.
For me, a lot of second viewings yield better results, but this one, It went from an 8 to a 9 and I feel it's on par with a few others in the series. What do you think of the theatrical versus the extended??? And your thoughts on A GOOD DAY in general???
You know, I've missed your sparkling personality.
