shareI think there are actually a lot of interesting characters, Mrs. Patmore, Carson, the Dowager, Thomas, Edith, and Robert, just to name a few....

shareAs a Mary fan I actually agree with this. It's like the Carson/Mary scenes by S3 I was over them because they were always the same. Every guy she met had to immediately fall in love. Aside from Pamuk she never faced any real consequences. I think Mary was most interesting in S1-2 because she seemed to change in relation to the circumstances. By S3 though its like JF had no new ideas and just repeated variations on the same theme. Which was frustrating because I feel like MD could have done so much more with the proper writing.

She is the meanest on the show but she really isn't that interesting predictable is more like it.
OMG, yes! I'm so tired of people ragging on her. I wish they could just imagine the show without her. It would be borderline dull.
I'm actually very balanced. I have a chip on both shoulders.
I think there is many interesting characters, but Mary is definitely one of them.
