Gil & Adriana didn't make love?
I think something went wrong, because after giving her the earrings they were supposed to make love (as was written in the book the guide was translating to Gil).
Maybe either Adriana or the Gil somehow changed the past (again), and thus he kept his being faithful to Inez until breaking up with her.
I think it was the Cab from the 1890s that disrupted the normal flow of events, what do you think?
