I don't get the criticism...
...that the movie is shallow. I think it's one of the best displays of our perception of time, dangers of nostalgia and simply one of the most enjoyable editions by Woody Allen.

shareI agree. it's a delightful film.
shareI agree. In many ways it's a love letter to Paris.
shareit's fluffy and Owen Wilson is passive. The people who like it I think like picturing themselves as Owen Wilson's character but there's no real driving force behind it. It's just like a parade of "hey they got this famous actor to play this famous artist"
I found it kinda masturbatory.
You mean like having sex with someone you love?
shareThis is my favorite Woody Allen movie, so I would also not understand that if I've heard such a criticism. The fact that the film is entertaining and interesting doesn't mean that it is shallow at all!
Nolan, I love you forever!share
