Sigh, I miss PG-13 films that didn't need an R-rating...

Stupid MPAA these days!

Try blaming the writers...for giving the MPAA a reason to give it an R-rating.

Surely you're old enough to see te film, whether it's rated R or not...

Domhnall Gleason called Maggie Gyllenhaal a c * * t in that one scene. I'm certainly no prude, but the day a PG-13 movies comes with that word, I will genuinely be impressed.

The Avengers is rated PG 13 and contains a synonym which is also a swear word (and not a biological/scientific term).

As a parent, I find the modern sensibilities of the MPAA to be ridiculous. Yes, they are more consistent now, but they are more consistently ridiculous. A film should almost never be rated R for language alone. The filthiest mouths I've heard have belonged to 13-to-17-year-olds. Who really thinks 13-year-olds don't hear the F word multiple times on a typical day?

There is nothing in Frank that a teenager shouldn't be able to see, and grouping it in with movies where heads explode and people torture each other makes the rating system pretty useless. Consider also that movies in which people get shot dead repeatedly can be rated PG-13.
