why all the hate?

it's a freakin lovely if not adorable likkl piece of cinematography u just had, unblvbl how ppl hate on what shdn't b hated on, i swear 2 god.

it was inspiring, climaxless & ...wait 5 mills , really? cudda'v done better fo'free.

reply

I can understand why people may not like the movie because it occasionally feels quirky for quirky's sake. I personally loved the film because it's a beautiful, multi-faceted approach to the genius and tragedy that comes with creativity and how it inspires and destroys everyone it touches.

reply

As you very well know, some people hate the movie and say all the worst about it without having seen it, so I won't get too much worried about it.

reply

What did you think about Dewayne Johnson's last movie? LOL.

Iretos,

People can more than get the gist of this from the nonsensical trailer for Frank. With the "it's my delighted smile under the trash can I'm wearing," nails across the chalkboard bad songs (from the trailer), nasty character of Gyllenhaal, "look how awesome I am even with a garbage can velcroed to my face.." arrogant attitude coupled with that truly bizarre musical show on Colbert Report showing the world how seriously he takes himself. Not funny at all.

The world last saw Fassbender 1. Rape someone in 12YAS 2. Look like Charles Manson walking arm in arm with a rumored Hollywood escort in Rome 3. And getting photobombed for months on end by his ugly blonde PR lady a/k/a "movie awards show pyramid jumper" or bumper or humper....LOL :)...hahaha hahaha...

His Colbert performance was closer to this

He doesn't know or care what people want. Just fan zombies who will support any nonsense he does will love Frank. Like I said, fine if he's living off of market demand 100%. But, he loves taxpayer funded projects. That's pathetic.

Pretentious. British. Actor. Who wants to teach negative social messages rather than entertain. I'm totally in favor of positive social messages in film. Love love love Disney as a company for that...still hasn't changed the philosophy of wonderful Walt. But, if you're on the scene to *beep* up heads and confuse people. I say stay home.

Lena, stop it, we got it, if there is something to get. You repeated these same .... concepts for at least 30 times if not more, it's enough. There's something behind this and we all got it too. Frank is the only movie helped by taxpayers? I doubt it. And how much might it have cost to New Mexicans, something like 50 c.each? I think less. So much adoo about nothing. The same nothing your posts are made of. Rewind and, if you're able, start again, we are fed up with all this.

haha, loved your post, surprized & deelighted , fo'real

I can almost hear the bubbles of your bong as you try to formulate sentences.... try....the operative word.

For once, I have to agree with that vile woman (I need a Silkwood shower for how disgusted my soul feels writing those words). I don't speak illiterate internet lingo so come back when you can form a sentence that doesn't sound like a line of dialogue for the babies from "Look Who's Talking Too".

reply

You're not writing an sms and not even teen-agers (intended as 13/15 years' old guys) write like that any more. Please.

reply

Oh, & how do they write then? cuz obviously you somehow now, enlighten me plz i insist.

ps: What were ur dictation ratings back then, or now for all i know... mine were around 18 & 20/20, most of the time, a 15/16 when i didn't like the text (& to boost mi redaction skills) or when the class's spirit was low/jealous, oh but yea sorry, you english people use letters to note that stuff, so that yall can focus on ur credit ratings & remember the alphabet, my bad sry. :]

reply

Come on, that was the way teen-agers wrote at sms time, when the text had to be short or you had to pay more. This is not a problem any more.

Dictation ratings? I can't remember the notes, but I did great in French and English too. And I'm Italian.

reply

is it anymore or any more ?
decide your self, know that you know your self you know?

Oh so that's why you're trolling the net isn't it, i leave nxt to italia, most of' em don't brag about it.(being italian)

reply

I wasn't criticizing your grammar. Personally. I just thought you were smoking a bong getting high while writing. I knew English wasn't your first language. I'm impressed when someone tries to write in English with it not being their first language. You just seem like a bong smoking surfer to me. That's all.

It's USA tax day for people with businesses so Ciao... We have to file returns so we can make sure Hollywood gets our money to fund the casting couch, apparently without the sanction or penalty of the EEOC....????

Well we have the same thing here, what do you want me to say? eeoc at least creates jobs for its contenders? i can't say that, + i wasnt smoking no bong, i'm naturally high you know, & anyway everytime i built one, it disappeared, god knows why, anyway, happy entrepreneur taxpaying day, maybe we'll talk again on the 1st of may :)

I think actually, we have bigger things to worry about with Obama making a visit to discuss (trying to contain or at least stop the worldwide spread of EBOLA) at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, and then taking not a brief visit, but rather a 2 day visit down to CENTCOM in Tampa, Florida. Today and tommorrow. To apparently discuss with central command at MacDill AFB attacks on Syria and terrorists. I hope we have not entered the age of bio warfare. That would be very bad. I'm hoping the terrorists are not advanced enough for that capability. And, that it's just a coincidence.

I just usually see the President meeting with his military leaders in DC or camp David. Not with him travelling down to Tampa to their neighborhood.

If we are gearing up for a big problem, neither taxes nor whether the EEOC can stop hostile work environments in film would matter much, would it? I also read that the Security Council at the UN has called a meeting to discuss EBOLA which is an unprecedented move because it is a health crisis not a world security issue. But, it makes me wonder why they are treating it like a security issue. I read it is because they think it will destabilize the region for a generation. But, with the 2 day CENTCOM visit for Obama, bizarre.

All the more impetus to alleviate our distress with the rollicking hilarity of piquantly bizare comedy on the order of Frank, to get back on topic. Ya never know Lena, you may find that at least a smattering of the redundant, and, I mean this in the most loving way imaginable, tiresome(especially to yourself I suspect)fears espoused in your posts are readily unmasked as more distortion than actuality.

reply

Well, Mechajutaro...I'm not sure where you are the global authority on that. But you are entitled to your opinion. And, please....don't be offended, but I'm not in the habit of accepting advice from strangers on how to act or feel even if they are packaged in phrases such as "I mean this in the most loving way....". I prefer to rely on my own ethics, value system, own intelligence, research, faith, etc, and not some anonymous poster for instructions on how to be.

Take that however you want....

"All that We are is due to what we've thought"- The Dhampadda; neither my own random concoction or caprice. St. Augstine, albeit in a much more unctuous and pedantic manner, scribbled out a similar musing in his City of God, for whatever consolation that's worth.

...don't be offended, but I'm not in the habit of accepting advice from strangers on how to act or feel

Not offended by the prolonged recalcitrance, not in the least. After all, we're simply sharing ideas, not ensconced in the tedium of the Syanon game and unless you've been webcamming as such I've no means by which to attest to your actions and, having continued this exchange without the benefit of vituperation, believe I've shown myself fairly accepting in regards to your feelings. Slightly taken a back at being deemed a "stranger", for we've been chatting a minute now, have we not?

Hardly anonymous; in fact, you referred to me by name in the first line of your previous post, quoted above. Delighted to read as much otherwise; conceivably then, at least some of that considerable intelligence can now examine your own sentences and paragraphs-past,present,future-for an empirical, evidentiary foundation.

reply

It was 85 minutes too long.

reply

Back on topic, implacably so this time around, I pray: No hate for this piquantly bizarre yarn on my behalf, and all due respect to Lena for whom practically nothing is exempt from her apparently congenital contempt, one poster's claim of a word wide fervor for the eradication of all thing Fassbender at the very least warrants a demand to produce credible evidence in conjunction. If even 3/4 of the Tinseltown backed "comedies" could match Frank in hilarity, I've no doubt the planet at large would be rendered unimaginably sedate within days.

reply

I certainly didn't hate it but it just wasn't my thing. I watched it because I loved Domhnall Gleeson in About Time but found myself struggling to keep engaged with this film. I get the quirkiness and I could see why others like it but it only rated a 5/10 in my opinion.

reply

Hi.
Why do you tell people about the number you rated stuff?
Oh & keep the quirkiness to urself love. (don't).
Goodbye :]

but really tho this movie just sucked because of its viewers (watched to the end).

reply

Don't tell people what I rate 'stuff' in general, just did it this time to convey that I didn't get how it was rated over 7. Don't see the harm in sharing my rating to get that across, so sorry if I offended you- love!

reply

Who made you ruler of the number rater universe? If that poster wants to tell people why she rated something why she did, what's it to you to tell her she's not allowed?

I shudder to think of the hellfire and fury that would ensue in your household if, alas, you walked in to the bathroom to see someone did not screw the toothpaste cap on tight enough...

On that note: I much desire your thoughts on what you specifically didn't fancy about the movie in question, if these do actually extend beyond the trailer and Colbert appearance. Having already share my assessment above, a request for reciprocation is hardly unreasonable, no?

reply

yea, well, all this pseudo-pussybloking is nice & all, but what about the movie?

mechajutaro, will you one day stop referring to urself by the 3 rd personae? it'd b cool, try it, 1st month'z free :] & hey , it's not like u'r the only one, just pisses me off each & everytime. let u in a likkl secret.feel like i shdnt have kid.bah, too late.

also peace & imdb shd let ppl have the right to close the conv they started just like youtube shd allow email notifications changes, these are merely suggz.

why all the hate.?!

reply

You know what? f the toothpaste, it's such a dumb name anyway, in France they call it dentifrice, try & find the etymology of this word please, i couldn't.
Kids brush your teeth, they'll fall off otherwise (got mad dreams about it.)

Shudder, such a nice word i wasn't aware of, thanks for the lesson, anyway u'r way of the charts on your analysing skills, if u want my email i'll send u a tube de dentifrice (for free, for you, cuz i lov ppl that's just how i am, hatefighter & all, live wizit, dont, idc).

Did u ever make a radio all by urself (galena, u know, couldn't resist).

ps: i never was number rating ruler nor will i ever be, all i said was... well guess what i forgot, but really this movie was cool & i abide by my words, i hope u'll find meanings in them & in your life too, cuz otherwise, we 'r all skrwd.

reply

It is not a movie for everyone because the story is about very special people.

I like this movie specially because it is DIFERENT ..!!!

8 for me.

8 sounds good, perso i'd give it a 7, because some of the acting was protudrously lame, there was little story, & the characters were very weird.

can u teach me el spanish? i wanna be el mejor!
also oscar? srsly? what a dumb name...

reply

Well... in fact is a 7, but I put 8 because nowaday is so difficult to watch movies diferents or with specials characters.

Then I put an extra point only because I wanted to say THANKS.

Yes I cant teach you spanish:
My first lesson: Hasta la vista baby ....!! the meaning is: Hasta la vista bebé.

About Oscar yes Óscar is a bit dumb name, but my name is Oscár (stress in a)and this is really a BEAUTIFUL NAME !!! :)

also you're right, me asking you to teach me spanish was a bit out of line, if i love the languague so much, i could teach it to myself.

wishing you all the best, me.

reply

Oh..!! I´m sorry.
Do you really want to learn spanish ??

I can help you, but my problem is I don´t speak so well english.

Spanish is a so complex language specially about the verbs begining with to be, that in spanish is "ser" or "estar".
Other problem for you is in spanish EVERYTHING HAVE SEX.
Then you must learn no only the word if not also if the word is male or female.
Example:
the tree: EL árbol
the flower: LA flor.

I love movies, but also use this board to practice my english because I have not chance to travel at the moment.

JAJAJAJA, even the stones ? hehe, i'm french so i know about the non neutral thing, but you're right it can get tricky not knowing the gender of the thing you talk about :) a real givaway for any "gringo" =)

I say i wanna learn spanish because i think it's a beautiful language (i think most are, you know), & i travelled there back in the days, yet really got discouraged by the speed at which people talk it you know, i was in a bar, eavesdropping, i couldn't catch a single word of what they were saying, it was like listening to those people from texas or china who make auctions in gibberish :) No offense.

Also i feel a bit complexed about not mastering every language yet, they even tried to teach me old-latin in school! & it was so boring i only really see the use of it now :] i wanna learn greek too ! But like you, i'm sooo busy :]

Anyway, enough ramblings, maybe if we built an inverted Babel tower ? (nah, we'd all end up mute xD)

reply

The table is female, but the desk is male.
Sometime I afraid to touch some strange thing hanging under my desk...!! :)

I don´t know where you was, but in general in big cities the language is so speed specially between young people.

In smalls towns in general is more slow.
It is so different the spanish in Spain and in the America´s countries.
Also it is diferent in differents Spain regions, and inside the America´s countries can be diferents sound that you can learn only living some year in each places.

In fact don´t exist THE SPANISH there are a lot of different spanish but in general you can learn the spanish from Spain or the American neutral spanish that they use to make the movies and TV series dubbing.

I love language but my exclusive comunication is internet.
I speak (bad) english, and italian.
Undestand potuguese and some word in french because I learn 3 years in the school.

Is very interesting how some words are similar in diferents language and other are completely differents.

Yes latin and greek are boring and so difficult... but this language are the basement of all the european language.

Here a lot of people think that french is a very sweet and musical language, and everibody think that french is the love language.
