Wow...

I really dug this movie. Coming from a musical upbringing and family, it was really neat watching this.

I am glad Netflix put it up, otherwise I probably would have forgotten about it. But I enjoyed it.

I really liked how it seemed to paint a clear as day picture of knowing how to write a good song and not. ie -

Knowing how to connect with what you're writing about and capture an idea and story vs. not having any clue how connect with anything or the confidence to try.

...at least for me.

As a songwriter, I thought the movie didn't really explore/depict the process and prowess of "creating", and the little it showed of that was dumb, off the mark, superficial and awkward. At least for me ^_^

It wasn't about that. It was about mentally ill people that used music as an outlet.

They were ok, but not great. They weren't supposed to be though .

The ginger lad didn't have any major ability for music or spotting potential talent. But he did what any band should do to promote themselves. Because sadly . You have to pay your rent and eat..

The problem with this band was any amount of fame would send them back into mental facilities.
