Great movie! Somehow it reminded me of the story behind the recording of Beefhearts Trout Mask Replica: a bunch of weirdo's recording an album completely closed off from the world, for quite a long time, under the 'guidance' of a charismatic genius with a plan. I wonder if this similarity is intentional...

The similarity seemed pretty intentional to me, I definitely got that Captain Beefheart feel from Frank, especially at the part where Frank writes a 'likable' song.
