Are there any other films like this around? I don't mean with a band necessarily but just quirky films with a nice ending?
I've seen Safety Not Guaranteed and like that one too (I've posted similar on that board as well).
It's strange but I also like quirky songs that sound different as well like Lorde "Royals" and Gotye "Somebody that I used to know". I guess I'm not alone though as they both went to number one.

Frank reminded me a bit of This is Spinal Tap (1984) - a great comedy of music industry and rock musicians.

'A Life Less Ordinary' - One of Danny Boyle's lesser known films (1997) with Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz (But it's Holly Hunter who steals her scenes). I watch this every few years with someone new and still holds up fantastically.
