Holy crap! I can't believe how horrible this movie is.

One of the worst films I've seen in recent years. Truly awful. Serious. I can't really think of any redeeming qualities this film has. It's like a bunch of rich kids go their parents to fund an idea for a movie they had and made this movie.

First of all, the premise is outright retarded. With that, you think to yourself, "Well, there must be a reason they came up with this idea. They must have some clever way to make it work". No, they don't. There's nothing suspensful about the movie. It gets old and boring really quick. And the whole time you just keep thinking, "WTF".

The main characters are just annoying stupid. Despite numerous opportunities to escape and run for help or fight back, they instead decide to cower like a bunch of morons inside the atm booth.

I just can't believe this film got made.

Agreed! Just watched this on Netflix & all I can say is that I have truly & utterly wasted 90min. of my life! Ugh! To call this bad would be an understatement.

It's also very unsatisfying for the audience because they choose NOT to fight back....and just wait....and wait....and accept their fate. They are so weak and stupid, you almost root for them to be killed. Ok....three of them against one....they're all 20-somethings, not obese old folks....you'd think they'd have a decent chance to outrun this guy???

At some point, it almost became like a comedy.

wyrntz: if you see a film entitled, simply 'ATM', and you read the premise, why are you complaining it wasn't another Taxi Driver or Ben Hur? Give me a break.
It's a one-dimensional chiller flick. And for what it was, it was pretty good.
See "Predator Island" if you want to see something TRULY awful. That movie was on the BB shelves for 2 years. That film makes ATM look like a Cannes winner!

Most people avoid reading the spoilers, I mean the premise.

um...the premise is not the spoilers down here in the comments section. The premise is right next to the jacket cover at the top. It's foolish to go to the comments section to find out what the movie is "about". The comments is where many people go to discuss problems/questions AFTER they saw the movie, so there are a lot of spoilers down here.

Yeah, the comments is where the real "dirt" of a movie is. I sometimes come here too and dance around the spoilers to get a gist of what people are saying.

Then I too apologize, targa9. Even though most say this movie sucks, I think I'll be a masochist and pehaps watch it anyway. It's on Netflix so it won't cost me nuthin' but time.

the jacket cover is filled with spoilers. if you watch movies then you know that.

um...first of all, I didn't say read the jacket cover, but what was "NEXT" to the jacket cover. Secondly, in any case, no, jacket covers are not filled with spoilers, unless it "spoils" a movie for you to learn what it is about in the first place. Does it?

A spoiler is something that gives away a major plot point, such as "the butler did it", or "she gets killed in the warehouse"; information that would, you know, SPOIL a movie for you. A jacket that says "4 teenagers are forced into
a cave by an evil spirit and fight for their lives" is not a spoiler but a PREMISE or OUTLINE. Know the difference.

Learn what a spoiler is, then come back to me.

It could have had its moments, but the writing was just so poor. Here are some of my many gripes.

1. The c*ck block best friend. Loses his phone, never carries around any money, intentionally annoying, were we supposed to think he had any kind of professional job? And even more, were we supposed to not be happy when he got killed, because I was relieved.

2. The location of the ATM. It's also after midnight, they are in a terrible part of town, so they decide to stop off at THAT atm? It might as well should have a sign saying "You will get robbed and killed in this dangerous atm". Then, and that's the most annoying thing, he parks the car like 100 feet away!! I can understand him wanting his jerk best friend to walk, but it IS freezing outside, bad neighborhood, and instead of driving up closer to help his friend, he just leaves his girlfriend out there.

3. There was some haziness with details. Why did the bf's card not work, and if it didn't how did he get inside.

4. The deaf mute who they kill. Who conveniently is wearing the same coat as the killer. Our killer was offing anyone who came close to the atm. But the killer decides to let the deaf mute inside?

I still cant believe that 3 hip young Millenials would all forget their cells at the same time. The rest is actually believable from people who have no street experience and panic.

It was at least a 7/10 movie as it was watchable. The acting was solid. They were able to have the killer be violent without showing much blood on the screen like the good old Halloween movies. The movie was shot basically in one location which is at the ATM building and they were able to scare us and keep us in suspense and wonder if these people ever were going to get out alive. Amazing job of directing/acting.

How can people say it wasn't a good movie when they even were able to have us think they killed the bad guy for a second but then my mind and maybe others started thinking hey wait it is cold out and maybe this guy just had the same jacket on and when it was confirmed they killed an innocent man just WOW !

What about the ending where the footage basically makes it look like the last guy alive was the one who did all the killing possibly ? Can you say my God what a heck of a time he is going to have showing he didn't kill everyone ?

Sorry people but the majority of reviewers got it wrong rating this movie. It is definitely not a 30+ out of 100 movie or anything like what others gave it on different sites.
