None of the three friends had a cell phone available!!!

I remember the scene when David, Emily & Corey were all at the ATM
and then realized that they needed to call for help and none of the
group had his cell phone handy! SO UNBELIEVABLY LAME!!! Emily had
left hers in her purse inside of the car and neither of the two guys
had his phone on him. I know wherever I go somewhere I take along
my android phone regardless of where I am headed. And being in an
unfamiliar area was all the more reason for one of them to have
had a working cell phone handy not left inside the car!!! I still
don't know why they just did not go to a more familiar part of
the city which would have been well lit. Of course if the three
friends had used any common sense then the movie definitely would
not have taken place!!!

And equally as unbelievable is that the killer relied on none of them having a cell phone for his stalking and killing to take place.

That aspect of the story (the killer being so detail oriented yet relying on his prey not having cellphones) was rather silly given how commonplace cell phones are in this day and age. It would have been more probable if he had some kind of cellphone jammer but I don't know how they would of conveyed that through a silent antagonist.

If you were listening carefully they mention earlier when they are driving around why they don't have cellphones.
3rd Wheel borrows Blue Ball's cellphone to ask an office coworker to find and put his blackberry in his desk since he left it at the party. In the process he uses the last bit of battery left in Blue Ball's cell and then Hot Girl leaves her cellphone in her purse in the car.

Did you ever consider that the 2 guys put their phones in their anal regions, for pleasure? If you did that, would you want to get it out with a girl like that in front of you? Clearly your argument is invalid.

One of the most ridiculous parts of the movie. Chances all three forgetting their phone is almost nil. Especially when you consider she couldn't lock the car and she decides to leave the purse in the car???

And then even the janitor doesn't have one?

David messed up because all he had to do was run to the car and grab the phone and then make the call in the ATM booth. Instead he tries to do that in the car with the killer right on him.

Yeah, just run to the car and get the purse and run back in. No he starts rummaging through her purse wasting time looking for the phone. All of them were so stupid and emotional they didn't deserve to live.

I agree there's no way all 3 wouldn't have had a cell phone. Too unrealistic. I could believe maybe one or two but not 3.
