The team behind the original animated series addressed the backlash referring to Morph as a nonbinary mutant saying the word “nonbinary” is the same as the word “shapeshifter, which is Morphs power.

Nope. That’s total BS. Mystique is a shapeshifter too but didn’t identify as nonbinary.

Nonbinary refers specifically to someone who feels they aren’t one gender.

Has nothing to do with having the ability to shift from one to the other.

Not anymore in comics. They turned him gay 10 or so years ago. I admit though I mainly have only read older comics from the 70s and 80s. I plan to read til about the 90s when you have to buy 6 titles or more to keep up with your favorite characters. I read only Uncanny X-Men cause this is what I have and I paid $100 for it on ebay 10 years ago.
