Who thinks this is better than Drive?I watched them for the first time last night back to back,Drive first then Only God Forgives.Drive was just a boring thriller and it has been done so many times before,but because if the 80s soundtrack and the limited dialogue it's an "Arthouse Thriller",what's arthouse about that,a straightforward revenge thriller.None if the characters were believable in their roles,tge story was stupid.Ryan Gosling looks like a movie star and the woman leading actress is hot but it's a "Platonic Love" because that's more "Deep",plus a guy gets out of prison and see's his wife talking with another man who looks like well...Ryan Gosling and doesn't get upset or jealous AT ALL,why was he even in prison?It just isn't believable to me,now of course OGF has these same elements but it takes it on a much deeper level,primarily with the sexual abuse Gosling's character has gone through with his mother and the overall mood if tge film.Drive's a 5/10 for me and I'd give OGF and 9/10

What can I say mate, if you didn't spot Oscar Isaac incredible subtleness in that corridor scene, maybe Drive isn't for you
Anyway, OGF is another kind of film, so the comparison doesn't give any of the two film a chance

Drive is certainly the more immediately accessible of the two, and I did prefer it on first viewing.

But OGF is certainly catching up every time I watch it.

"I'm leaving, i've assessed the situation, and i'm going".

If you think he doesn't get upset or jealous at all you missed some things. Maybe a second viewing will help.

They are both incredible films, IMO. Each film creates it's own mood and has a completely different style, but at the core, they are so similar. OGF and Drive remind me of the similarities of David Lynch's "Mulholland Drive" and "Lost Highway." Two films with the same basic premise, but one shot in light, the other shot in shadow. The characters of Julian and "Driver" are both quiet, mysterious guys with a violent streak, but Julian is much darker, and his intentions more ambiguous. Personally I also prefer OGF, due to it's dark, beautiful visuals, and it's less commercial feel, but please don't dismiss "Drive." It's an excellent film.
