This film belongs in the 70's...

...in an era where people would have appreciated it.

It blows my mind how much hate this thing has gotten.

When I saw the Jodorowsky tribute at the end it really hammered home what this movie was going for.. Its a real tribute to truly cerebral, artistic cinema.

I just saw this for the first time and am completely at a loss, but I will agree with this, at least. This film aches for the violent Hong Kong dramas of the Seventies.

I am big. It's the pictures that got small.

Considering the connections to Jodorowsky's Santa Sangre, in a pretty revisionistic way, I said it belongs to.. right now

If this was made in the 70s, a more talented director would have made a good film

Basically, this film is too good for today's mainstream audiences. Something like this is wasted on them.

Speaking of which, I was just looking at ratings for "art-house" films, Fellini's 8 1/2 has 65,0000 ratings, Last Year at Marienbad has about 11,0000. The fact that "Only..." has over 68,000 ratings tells you that a lot of people saw this move, and the fact is, as pretty much has always been, a mass audience will reject, or disparage "art-house" cinema. It's just too weird and "different" for them so they don't like it.

I guess people who saw this expected to see Drive 2?!
