Somebody kills somebody, and when they in turn get killed, someone wants revenge. In this case, the father of a murdered girl kills Julian's brother. Now, Crystal wants revenge. If Julian kills the father, who will kill Julian to avenge the father? And so on, and so on. I guess some people just think their lives are worth more that those of others. Typical criminal (read sociopathic) mind.

Crystal was a sociopath, a twisted woman that had a sexual relationship with at least one of her own sons, and had her younger son kill his own father with his bare hands, and then attempted to use him again to commit another murder for her. She doesn't even blink when she hears that her oldest son raped and beat an underage girl to death. Obviously these are people who place zero value on anyone's life but their own. A classic sociopathic trait is believing that you are right and everyone else around you is disposable. Crystal was one scary bitch..no wonder Julian couldn't even bring himself to touch a female, other than in his imagination.

Thanks for the insight. I figured as much from the plot line. I've known people like this, there are plenty of them around. I won't be watching this. It won't enrich my life.

You might want to give this a chance. "Only God Forgives" might be a tough watch, dealing with some dark themes and some nasty characters. But it really is a unique film, and it has this artistic style that you just don't see in today's movies. And IMO, anytime we expose ourselves to art, we are "enriching our lives" somehow. I especially recommend this movie if you are tired of all the flashy, super-mainstream 'Summer movie' stuff that's out there now..
