Refn interviews Friedkin
Recently, William Friedkin's Sorcerer was released on BD in France,
which includes an 80-mins video where Refn conducts an interview with Friedkin.
There's a funny moment in the interview.
While talking about the commercial failure of the movie,
Friedkin mentioned Refn experienced it himself on Only God Forgives.
Ref said it actually made money because of the low budget,
and continues:
Refn: Oh, I'm like you, I have no regrets on Only God Forgives,
and I think it's a masterpiece as it is... I just didn't make it very....
Friedkin (looking back on his shoulder): Is there a doctor in the house?
We need to get medic in here.
Is there a doctor around?
R (laughing): I just didn't make it ...
F: If you think it's a masterpiece, what is Citizen Kane?
I have never seen any of Refn's movies as of this writing.
But I'm considering to see because, in the interview
he said Friedkin was the most inspiring filmmaker to him.
It makes me curious what kind of movie he has made.
