Did anyone else really dislike this film first time around, but found it pure brilliance after viewing it again?
I liked it enough the first time. I enjoy slow films with silent scenes. Frankly the story (if there is conclusively one, which is up for debate) is the only weak point of the film.

I am pleased that you liked the film after watching it for a second time. I liked the film the first time that I watched it. I watched it again recently for a second time and I still liked it and thought it was very good and in my opinion underrated. There have been many films I have liked much better after a second viewing such as Full metal jacket and The Omen. I realised after a second viewing of these films that they were much better than I originally thought.
