What do they actually sell?

I've been catching up on some recent episodes. In both Antique Archaeology stores, I noticed in the background plenty of items from previous seasons, items Mike and Frank claimed would be "easy to sell." Yet, there they sit. On the AA Web site, all I see for sale are autographed posters from Mike Wolfe. Frank appears to have sold a few things on his site, but not a lot.

Given how scripted the show is, does anyone think they're actually selling much that they supposedly pick? Other than tin toys and all the advertising signs, I see a very limited market for their inventory.

I'm still curious about the market for rusted oil cans, dirty old oil bottles, and chipped and rusted gas station signs.

Frank nearly has an orgasm when he finds any of that stuff. Their value is lost on me.

I have only watched about six of these but Mike (the tall one) has bought about four of those big old roadside arrow signs. He does get a little too bit excited about them :)

I remember seeing a post from someone who went to the Nashville store and said that there were a lot of items with "not for sale" tags on them. The store seems to be mostly a museum of picker finds, and a souvenir shop.

Their shop in Nashville is a fully-functioning store, and you can see plenty of Youtube vids of people wandering therein, but there are quite a few display pieces that you can recognize from the show that are part of Mike's collection and not for sale. Not sure about their store in Ohio though, seems more of a repository than a retail location.

Looking at their stores, they sell a wide variety of stuff, from furniture to automotive to military and everything in between. Not that much different from your typical antique shop really.

Even Wolfe isn't remotely interested in the sh!t he "picks".

But I never met anyone who was remotely interested in any of that stuff, and in real life you would have to pay someone to haul it away.

Even Wolfe isn't remotely interested in the sh!t he "picks".

You obviously didn't watch the episode.

Mike makes a deal that he will pay $60 blindly if he hauls this thing out from under a debris pile. They even used a loader to get it out, so he looks happy because he finally got it out.

He then realizes how bad of condition it is in and says it has no value at all except for scrap.

Don't they still have that old car shell that Frank bought for $5600 at one point? Turns out it was worth at best 3K and so they turned it into a decoration at their Ohio store.

Since you obviously have a love affair with the show, I think you should know that the other store is in Iowa, not Ohio.

They sell t-shirts. The stores are nothing more than souvineer shops. Fat people love the places.
