That this isn't JUST a comedy? Aside from being a mockumentary it's also a series of character studies, which includes moments of humour, and of drama.
It annoys me that Chris Lilley fans are losing interest because it's 'not as funny as Summer Heights High'. Maybe he didn't want to churn out the same show over and over? It's different, sure, and maybe less funny because he's introducing much more dimensions to the characters, and more seriousness into the plot. Lilley does brilliant emotional development with charm and subtlety, and is able to soften anyone's heart towards any of the mental characters he comes up with. My point is this is its own show, with its own depth and humour, and frankly even more realism and honest characters than his previous shows.
People who say he should have exploited characters more for humour bother me. Not eveyone needs it dumbed down, I love the new direction he's going in.
Biased, but honest.
