Tender moments by Chris Lilley

It's seems to be a bit of a trend for most if not all of Lilley's work. I'm talking about the moments that put the comedy on pause and really start showing some pretty emotional scenes. Examples of which are {SPOILERS AHEAD} Pat's death towards the end of We can be Heroes. In Summer Heights High, Jonas's return to the classroom both straight after he's been expelled and when he returns to read his story.

And I have a funny feeling Gran's alzheimers will spark another moment.

I personally love them what do you guys think?

I know, its crazy how these fictional characters invoke so much emotion.

I'm guessing you havent seen the last episode yet based on your comment so I wont spoil it but needless to say there are a few "Tender moments" in there. But they usually end with something that makes you laugh.

You're dead right. Jonah's remedial reading was much the same.

He really takes it to another level in Angry Boys. Gran and Daniel, especially, are characters with a lot of heart. Not sure how much you've seen and I want to avoid spoilers, but I just watched the final episode and it's as emotional as it is funny.

Yeah, either way it's a bummer to see it end. It's crazy that same guy acting can
bring that kind of emotional involvement out of you. It's impressive really.

Chris Lilley is a *beep* genius!

Gran and the new detainee-when Gran yelled at him and then later apologized and the kid spoke-I had to leave the room...HE. IS . GENIUS!!!

Summer Heights High also had the episode where Celine died (Mr G.'s dog). Though we find out in the last episode Celine never actually died, the episode where she does ends very sadly. His shows are great. There were aspects of Angry Boys I wasn't crazy about, but I still completely loved it.
