The scene where Bill Lombarty (Sarsgaard) says it would be like pouring concrete down a Holywell is talking about tapes?

wouldn't they be records or did Bobby have a reel to reel somehow?

Cassette tapes has been around since the early 60's.

I always thought Cassette tapes were an 80's thing. I was born in 79 so I have no idea. But I was thinking of getting a reel to reel,

the germans invented magnetic tape during WW2, I know that much

I was born in late 80's, but i know tapes as we know them was patented in the 60's, in the 70's it was definitely a thing.

Yes, as a kid in the '70s I used cassette tapes all the time; used to record stuff off the radio and TV. But aside from that many flaws in the film.
