How good are you at chess?

I'm a very enthusiastic player, at my best around 1900-2000 elo, currently about 1700 I would think.

Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of wealth and taste......

I can beat anyone who has not studied chess, but I will lose to anyone who has studied it. My rating is between 1500-1600

I had an A rating in the 1990s before I quit playing tournament games, which were too much stress for me. Winning became more important than having fun, so I decided to step away from the game.

About 1800 or so FIDE.

I don't like to brag but I'm over 9000

My peak rating was 1499 when I was 11 years old.

I haven't played any rated club games since I was a youth, but I recently registered on chess.com.

I mostly only play online speed chess games. I hover around the 1200 ratings mark or so but I suspect that there are a lot of cheaters when I play online.

I have no idea but I played ALOT in prison and was getting good. Plus I read books on it. I kind of got obsessed. Of course you quit playing for a while and you start to suck real fast.

My current rating is 1665. I'm a .500 player against skilled but not championship-caliber players. I'd say I've won about 25-33% of my games against higher competition. I won a game the other day against a 1900+ player who had me totally against the ropes. I'm still not entirely sure where he erred. It was exhilarating.

Watching players on Fisher's level is mind-boggling, though. He'd have beaten me in minutes.

I'm looking forward to this movie. Searching For Bobby Fisher was a long time ago. We need more chess movies!
