StudioCanal will release the UK Blu-ray on June 17th. From a 2-channel audio perspective, and that quite an effort is placed on the use of music and sounds in Mr. Malick's films, it is worth noticing that this release may sport a lossless(24-bit LPCM 2.0) 2-channel stereo track in addition to the DTS HD Master Audio 5.1/7.1 surround track - if the latest Blu-ray releases from StudioCanal are anything to go by. Personally I'm very excited about the possible outlook for this being that it makes a difference for the (much) better with stereo-only setups, instead of having to resort to the less-than-ideal down-conversion where a surround track is the only option. By all accounts the 5.1/7.1 track in a full-HD surround setup will grant the most immersive experience, but for 2-channel "audiophiles" like myself the (possible) outlook for a lossless stereo track on the upcoming UK Blu-ray for To the Wonder is something to cherish. I don't know whether US distrib Magnolia will plan for the same with their August release, but looking through their Blu-ray release history I doubt it.
