what's the point?

"Neil reconnects with Jane (Rachel McAdams), an old flame. They fall in love until Neil learns that Marina has fallen on hard times."

ok, without having seen the movie, I have no idea why a divorced woman and her kid should be anyone's problem but her ex the man whose kid it is?!

From Ukraine to Paris to America... come on, this type of gold digging goes on every day. When a Western man realizes that some Asian or East European woman was just using him to go West, well, off to another young chicka they go.

Maybe you should actually watch the movie.

There's no "gold digging" involved.

"When a Western man realizes that some Asian or East European woman was just using him to go West"

Because no Western man ever tries to exploit Eastern European or Asian women.

But this has nothing to do with the film... maybe TRY WATCHING THE FILM.

How about answering my 1st question?

Oh, and Marina did go nation hopping, and seemingly men do get either bored of her, or realize it's all a farce and a set up.
In any case, a gold digger.

The reason I dodged the first question is because if you'd watch the movie, you'd know this is an inaccurate statement. First, she's not divorced, and second the ex is not there. And third, sometimes people in love with someone who has a kid...

And Marina is a little bit... out there. THere's no "set-up", that's just a ridiculous statement. The film does not offer any indication of that, nor does her voice over even present that as a possibility. She's completely in love with Affleck's character.

If you characterize all movies by their "plot", or if you expect all movies to "make sense", then this movie is not for you. Period.
