Fake Reviews
There are currently 5 reviews for Norm of the North on IMDb and after reading all of them I looked at each of their profiles individually. Here is what I found.
Two of the reviewers who gave it 10 stars have been members for about 2-3 years. When I looked at their profiles they both had nothing else on them except for their reviews of Norm of the North. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though and say that maybe they had accounts for a while but it wasn't until they saw the genius that is Norm of the North that they felt the need to give it a perfect score while also throwing in some words about it.
Another account was only one day old, this time with two reviews: One for NotN, and one for La Leggenda del Titanic, an even lower-rated movie that he gave the perfect 10 as well. I will also give this guy a pass as maybe he was looking for his two favourite movies on IMDb one day and after seeing the horrible scores they have, he was obligated by his morals to sign up for IMDb and write outstanding reviews for these "treasures."
The fourth reviewer was a member for just under 2 months now and has a few more reviews under her belt, mostly kids movies, and is by far my favourite reviewer yet. She has a total of five reviews so far, all I would assume are perfect scores if the actual review is anything to go by, including Norm of the North, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, The Peanuts Movie, The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2, and The Night Before. The best part is that she watched all of them with her beloved son Muhammad. ...ahem...
... and The Night Before.
I would say that this is an odd choice to watch with your young son, but I'm not one to judge. This woman obviously just wants to watch family movies with her son and honestly enjoys them enough to give them 10/10.
The last reviewer I found for Norm of the North was the odd man out, only giving it a 1/10. Seriously: a 1/10. After clicking on his profile and seeing that he has been a member for four years, has multiple badges, over 3000 ratings, and 84 reviews, I have come to the conclusion that this is a troll. Why else would he give Norm of the North a 1/10?
This is why I really want IMDb to start monitoring reviews more to keep trolls like this guy from tarnishing beloved children's classics such as Norm of the North, and to keep IMDb safe for everyone else.
(But seriously, Norm of the North sucked)
