Sarah Polley lesbian?

When a woman makes a movie prominently featuring naked women, I suspect lesbianism. But maybe not, since I've met straight women who are appreciative connossieuses of the female form.

I don't know or care one way or another, but I thought it was odd that we got full frontal nudity from the women (which is fine), but toward the end when Margot is having the threesome with Daniel and the other woman, they're pulling down his pants and the camera didn't cut away so I was certain we were finally getting some male nudity, but then the other woman pushed him onto the bed and obstructed the view. We didn't even get to see his bum. Grrr!

Perhaps, or perhaps it was simply natural in the context of the situation. Additionally, a theme (or at the very least, an idea) that runs through the film is that Margot feels distanced from the men in her life - at first she has the connection with Daniel, but in the masterful montage you mentioned, it shows them growing apart as well, and right before the scene where she sits alone in the amusement park ride in which she leans her head against the oven perfectly mirrors the one that opens the film with Lou. Essentially, with Margot as the protagonist, we as an audience have to experience the world from her perspective, seeing how she (at least in her eyes) views her relationships, at least in my interpretation, as consisting of stripping herself emotionally bare to men who grow ever more distant (look at her confrontation with Lou regarding how difficult it is to try to seduce him anymore). Thus, seeing the women as naked, as intimate as one could be with regards to physicality, reflects this, as does the absence of nudity with the men, which enhances the idea of a greater distance. That would be my thoughts, at least. As an aspiring director, to my mind a director, at least one with the talent of Sarah Polley, wouldn't make choices like this for their own titillation or other types of amusement, and I feel there's a lot more to it.

She's been married to a man and she had a child not long ago with another man. I also recall her having an affair with the (male) director of The Claim.

When there's male nudity in a film directed by a guy, do you think that the director is gay as well?
