i was eleven when i watched this the first time, and i didn't find it that scary tbh. i really love this kind of paranormal stuff too, so it was disappointing. but it was great when darth maul made a cameo.

What are you, like, 14? The world doesn't care about your opinion

reply

The world doesn't care, only WELCOMEtoCANDYLAND cares enough to post. WELCOMEtoCANDYLAND is actually Christopher Lee and is just a bit angry he didn't get to play Count Dooku in Insidious 2.

Found another 14 year old.

If I can't smoke and swear I'm *beep*

I am 43, and it wasn't scary to any word "Scary". It was a laughable movie.

I am a gore watching freak!!!

If it don't have it, it isn't worth the watch.

reply

I wasn't expecting all that much gore so it didn't bother me. It's a little slow at times, but not too bad.

was still an excellent horror movies considering the great atmosphere, pacing, nice mixture of suspense and jumps, well directed spirit realm scene (applause for pulling that scene off)

"oh but the dad was dumb, he should have done this, I would never do that etc"

yea that's half the fun, I think the director knew very well that he was the "cliche" dad in a horror movie guy.

if you can't suspend some belief for a a film, you couldn't watch 90% of them.

Because you love this kind of paranormal stuff it was disappointing? What?

What are you hungry for?

Total honesty. That is it.

I wasn't afraid of it either, but then again I don't get scared by movies. I don't watch them to be scared. I watch them to get told an imaginative story with fascinating characters and I feel this movie delivered with both. It also had a great atmosphere.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

PG-13 just never got to me at all even back when I was 13, which I was 30 years ago. Even the rated R and Unrated don't bother me. When I saw the PG-13 horror movies which I think Insidious was the last PG-13 horror movie I last watched. It turned me away from watching any more PG-13 horror. The whole thing just was laughable, and the worst acting to all horror movies. So 2010 was the year I told myself to never watch another PG-13 horror movie even if a friend or family asked me to watch it with them, I would turn it down in a heartbeat.

Barely one chill through the whole thing.

LAME

Not remotely scary unless the view is mentally disabled. Wasn't scary even for a ghost story. Just more stupid than anything else. Please never again.

What a lovely way to burn...

That pretty much defines all PG-13 horror movies.

This is one of the few movies I have ever seen to give me real chills, another being the conjuring. It didn't need to use cheap jump scares and gore to get a response.
