The Title does NOT refer to the Fairy Tale!

The title of this movie is a reference to the Japanese novel "The House of the Sleeping Beauties" by Yasunari Kawabata, which has roughly the same premise as the movie, except it is from the POV of the johns rather than the prostitutes.

Actually....it does.. In the original fable Briar Rose gets raped in her "sleep". Classic fairy tales are pretty horrific in their non-Disney-pixie-dusted-state. The Little Mermaid is another one that's just plain horrific.
