Not that great
This movie was enjoyable enough in a low key way, but it never really cohered into anything. It wasn't quite funny enough to be a good comedy, and never explored the characters in enough depth to have much weight as a drama. The "uplifting ending" and the romantic subplot with the mom felt rushed and contrived.
If you want to see a film about an emotionally stunted slacker, go see "Lars and the Real Girl" instead.
