Creepy! Ed Helms looks like Heather O'Rourke!!

I couldn't help but notice the similarity between young Ed Helms (on the little frame on the poster) and late Heather O'Rourke! It's almost creepy, they are identical, except the length of their hair!

That is sad about Heather O' Rourke. I remember when she passed away in early 1988 (yes, I remember that year) after filming Poltergeist III from crohn's disease(auto immune disease). I was diagonsed with it in 2007 at the age of 24 and it is a living hell, and I mean it. There isn't a cure for it. Just lots of Emergency room visits, Hospital admissions up to 2 weeks every month, weight loss, sitting in doctor's office all day, an endless amount of medication to help fight the disease. I have an 80% chance of developing colon cancer from it in several years. Never in a million years did I ever think I would have to go through this. Be thankful you don't have to go through it.

I'm really sorry if you felt offended by my comment. It was never my intention. But i can't understand your reaction. I never made fun of her or her desease. I just noticed a striking visual similarity. How can that be disrespectful?

Heather O'Rourke didn't have Crohn's disease, she was misdiagnosed with it. The medicine they gave her to treat the Crohn's disease she didn't have made her in worse health. She went into cardiac arrest, and suffered septic shock brought on by the intestinal stenosis. That's what caused her death. Her parents filed a lawsuit against the hospital. Sorry, about your Crohn's, but it didn't cause Heather's death. I thought I would clarify.

I'm not mad at you or anything, and I know you didn't make fun of her. It's cool. I just remember Heather was so young, 12 or 13 years old when she passed away. If she wasn't misdiagnosed at the time, she could have been a Hollywood superstar today.

You were 5 when she died....you really remember her dying? You parents let you watch the movies?? My daughter is 4 and I would never think of letting her watch Poltergeist. Let alone the other 2!

My parents did not let me watch any of he Poltergeist films until I was over the age of 10. The only thing I remember when Heather O' Rourke died, her paents did file a lawsuit in the summer. I live in Maryland and we had a horrible drought that year, so I had to stay inside, as for many days it was well over 100 degrees outside. I remember some things about 1988, Heather O' Rourke passing and the lawsuit are just a few of the things that I remember. It was on the news a lot.

In 1982, the PG-13 rating was 2 years away from being put into the ratings system. I wouldn't let a 5 year old watch Poltergeist either. That is really good parenting. I'm not being sarcastic with you or anything. I think I read on the trivia section that this film was initally given a R Rating, but was brought down to a PG rating on appeal. The PG-13 rating system didn't begin until July 1, 1984. I read online somewhere that at the time Gremlins and Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom were too intense for a PG, but not strong enough for an R Rating. Steven Speilberg actually recommened to the head of the MPAA rating board that they create a rating that was just in between the PG and the R. At one point, they were thinking PG-12, but Speilberg thought PG-13 would be more appropriate and they went with it. If the MPAA rating board went back prior to July 1, 1984 and re-rated films, Poltergeist would have earned a PG-13, and a heck of a lot of other films to boot. A lot of films from 1984 to about 1988 were given wrong ratings ex: Spaceballs, Howard The Duck etc.. .It's interesting how much times have changed since the early 80's.

I think you should find a better doctor. My mother was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 1982, she has never had er visits and hospital stays of up to 2 weeks at a time. She had 14 feet of her small intestine removed and since then has lived a pretty normal life through diet and exercise. She takes some meds, but I would never decribe her life as a living hell (yes, I know it's different for everyone). Seriously, find a better doctor.

hey man, I'm sure you didn't mean to offend anyone by your post. just keep in mind that when most people hear her name that are old enough to remember how tremendously sad and sudden she died, like me for instance because I was 12 at the time, that's what comes to mind.
