So whats this movie about?

Yea, that's not really what it's about. But, those are some simplified plot points. I would say that anyone who's interested in this film at all should just go see it. It only works as a whole; it's impossible to get the idea or tone of this movie across in a two-minute trailer or a handful of sentences on a message board.

I thought it was phenomenal, others might disagree, but it really comes down to personal taste, more so than most things. Giving a summary of the plot is useless as it's really about the growth of the characters in a natural, realistic world rather than "what happens", so the viewer needs to spend time with the characters for the film to have any impact. The title is all you need to know going in. I suppose this all makes it sound like a slow paced indie film, filled with long-shots and slow acoustic music where nothing much happens for minutes at a time. On the contrary, it's actually very tightly scripted and paced exceedingly well. The "easy" entertainment plays right along with and intertwines with the deeper subtext. I found that itself impressive from a screenwriting point of view, but it all ends up feeling very human, pure, and (believe it or not) honest.

I would imagine that if you're human you'll enjoy it, and possibly be truly moved, but there are some who don't and weren't, so I guess I don't have all the answers.
