but this is just wonderful! a really shift in perspective and i think a very unapolagetic and well conceived shoy at mixing zombies with romance and humor and drama. this is like love actually of zombie movies! i loved every bit of it, plus great choice of actors (nicholas hault *was* the movie, though "julie" was very good as well)
this one is has joined shaun of the dead and zombieland as my ever favorite z-movies.

I love zombie movies, but in the last few years have been suffering from zombie overload. Warm Bodies brought in a breath (HA!) of fresh air.
If you buy a ticket for a remake, you are the problem, not Hollywood.
I have to say that this is the first Zombie project I've seen in decades. (outside of playing Fallout 3 for hundreds of hours)
The only thing like it I can think of I've seen was the Vincent Price movie, "The Last Man on Earth" which has (tragic) echos of this film.
In the past, I couldn't get past a few minutes of the original "Night of the Living Dead" because it just looked like a bunch of gross and cheap shocks.
So I've never seen any of the recent zombie movies, or even the praised "The Walking Dead".
But this came on cable, and I was SHOCKED at how much I liked it.
The "name" actors hooked me in, (including Rob Corddry who I remain a fan of from "Hot Tub Time Machine") but I was actually able to "get into" the teen drama and the "Buffy" humor worked well for me.

This is my favourite zombie movie - but I guess this is because it is not really a zombie movie, but rather a movie with zombies. Actual "zombie movies" tend to be severely limited, and they are always so bloody negative... that's why I like this one.
