Finally no more "Royal Couple" crap

I was hoping for a royal split.

Sadly it had the reverse effect, now they get to spend more time talking about the breakup. They need to air the show against other soap operas if that is the direction they are heading.

Unless it's for publicity.

reply

No, but I'm sure it'll turn into the the Ross and Rachel scenario during the stories before they run

reply

It's probably all for show anyway. They'll make up and be back together come the first round. NBC will be sure to spotlight their make up.

reply

So which one cheated?

reply

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing!

reply

I doubt if either of them cheated. I can't help but feel that Brent's ego took a beating when he failed a couple years ago while Kacy made history and became America's darling. He fared better than she did last year but we saw how upset she was after losing (crying and having a hard time finishing her interview) so it looks like the pressure of living up to those high expectations got to her. Neither of those things can be good for a romantic relationship and I'm not surprised that they broke up. It's kind of amazing to me that they can still see each other every day and be in business together but keep the couple part out of it.

Made history? Americas darling? I hope that was meant as sarcastic. I enjoy the show, but it's athletic people running an obstical course.

I am the type of guy that over examines. But he said she took it very hard and he seemed to miss a step and was wearing baggy clothing. If I had to guess, he screwed up and he lost focus.

No, it wasn't meant to be sarcastic. Watch the show... they constantly remind us that Kacy "made history". And after she became the first woman to make it up the Warped Wall a couple years ago, I saw that story on regular newscasts, even in my local area, when they never reported on "American Ninja Warrior" before (or since, for that matter). People were oohing and aahing about her and I heard at least one commentator refer to her as "America's darling". They've never done that with Megan Martin or Jesse Graff so it probably has a lot to do with Kacy being so teeny tiny and adorable.

I was thrilled for Kacy when she "made history" back then but she hasn't lived up to the hype. To be honest, I'm sick of seeing her 19 times on every ANW episode and I really wish they'd tone it down with her. I think all the publicity and hype is partially to blame for her less-than-exciting performances the last 2 years.

reply

Oh I watch the show. And I just laugh or shake my head when they talk about history and things like that.

reply

I would say she had 15 minutes of fame, but she's hardly a household name.

I totally agree with everything you've said even the part about being thrilled when she initially made it up the wall. It was awesome to see a woman complete the course (both times), but unfortunately it seems like it was all a fluke. I've speculated for a while that ANW wanted and set up Kacy to be "America's darling" because of how small and pretty she is. Of course all of the girls running the course are beautiful, but Kacy has the advantage of being "pocket sized". I mean, how many times can the hosts say that 5 foot nothing 95 pound Kacy made history. They are obsessed with pointing out her teeny tiny stature. Also the only time we see Megan or Jesse is when they are running...they rarely show them.

Sure. Fine. Whatever 

reply

I definitely agree they set her up. Both Meagan and Michelle got up the warped wall the same season Kacy did it and if their cities came first they'd be the "first" woman to make it up the warped wall. They absolutely know what they're doing.

I called this 2 years ago.

Surprised it took this long.

She used to be just shown as his girlfriend watching from the sidelines, giving him that psychotic fangirl stare as he ran. Then she started running the course, banging Brett as long as it took to help her train and further her progress. The second she made her little "history" and the spotlight shifted to her, he was no longer needed.

After that run 2 years ago I was like "Well they're done with now."

What am I gonna do... with a gun rack?
