How was that guy with one leg going to beat the warped wall?

Anybody?

I asked that same question about Zack Gowen myself last week. In my reply, I said that while he has proven that nothing is impossible, that Warped Wall probably would have been his kryptonite. Another poster replied to me that he/she didn't see how it would have been possible even if Zack was wearing his prosthetic leg. I guess we'll never know if he'd have figured out a way to do it. What is known, however, is that there's no way he would have been given a pass on that obstacle because one great thing the show has going for it is that there is absolutely no favoritism when it comes to people actually tackling the course. Whether a person is 5' tall like Kacy or 6-1/2' tall and 300 pounds, they run the exact same course and just have to deal with it.

They just showed a guy tonite with a prosthetic leg who can run up the wall

I forgot that the show was on tonight. I usually watch it on Tuesdays on the Esquire channel. Thanks for the heads-up though... I'll be looking for him.

He was awesome!

Yeah that makes sense. I believe it's possible to run up the wall if the guy had his prosthetic leg on. How about if someone had two prosthetic legs?

After reading your post, I watched the show on NBC tonight and saw that guy (whose name I can't remember) make his run. Watching him struggle to get over those logs was incredible.

As a sidenote, his backstory was amazing (in kind of a creepy way) to me. He lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and his brother lost his life in a motorcycle accident but he continues to ride motorcycles. I could understand it if just one of those things had happened on a bike but both of them? I'm too much of a coward to have ever gotten on a motorcycle again and I would have taken those awful things as a sign... but that's probably just me.

Dag - agreed. Separate motorcycle accidents. And yet he still rides. WTF?

It reminded me of a friend who had a need for speed. He crashed his motorcycle twice being stupid... the third time killed him. He was a great guy in every other way, but he was addicted to that rush.

He probably wasn't intending to beat the warped wall, just to get as far as he could. One doesn't have to climb the warped wall to advance to the next round, just get far enough in a short enough amount of time to finish in the top 30. Who knows what his goal was? There was a sumo wrestler on women of Ninja Warrior whose goal was to pass just one obstacle (she didn't reach that goal).
