Should be called...
Should be called "American Upperbody Warrior"
theres rarely any lower body obstacles.
The only things is wrapping legs around something or the warped wall.

There are the steps at the very beginning and there's usually some type of balance thing they have to run across... those had tripped up many a competitor.
The one lower body that usually gets them is the Body Prop....its taken out many a competitor, and last year's winner Caldiero couldn't get through the Body Prop...I would love to see more of these types of obstacles, sick of all the upper body stuff that you don't have to use your lower parts on which totally benefits all the rock climbers...

I think it's reasonably balance until you get to stage 2 and 3, than it becomes ridiculous
shareYeah, I was thinking about this just the other day, wondering what they could come up with to test leg strength / lifting strength.
1) A bike lift: you get on a bicycle seat and pedal to wind a chain around the drum and lift you and the whole thing ten-fifteen feet up to the next obstacle (probably some sort of monkey bars)
2) Leg press or squat press: you sit in a leg press or get under the forks of a squat lift and do four or six reps. The first rep is 25 pounds, and each lift adds 25 pounds = 25/50/75/100/125/150. Another option is each rep is 50 or 75 pounds and opens a door a little bit more each rep. You do as many as you think you need to squeeze thru the door.
Another idea is a Twisted Balance Beam. It starts off 6-8 inches wide and narrows to 3-4 inches at the other end. And it's not straight but rather curves down two or three feet and then up five or six feet as well as twists (the beam itself is warped, it's static and doesn't move) from side to side 15-20 degrees along the 30-35 foot length.
You should submit your ideas to the show, they have been asking for new ideas.
In theory, the obstacles should be good for men and women.
