What happened to Paul Kassemir (sp?)?
He was one of the top guys and all of a sudden they stopped showing him. Did he even run this year?

According to Sasukepedia:
"In American Ninja Warrior 8, due to the purging of many old competitors, Paul was one of many veterans who did not receive a call to compete this season."
And then they have the nerve to defend how they shove Kacy in our faces, saying we should "Respect the pioneers".

Yeah...
Thanks for the reply.

What? That's awful. He was one of the elite competitors. I don't know what's off this season (maybe the fact two people completed last year lost some of its luster) but the show is off. Hopefully the ratings will tank and they'll go back to letting the competition speak for itself, rather than force storylines on us. Then again, this is NBC so I'm not holding my breath.
shareI thought they had mentioned him in passing during one of the city's as having finished the course. So did he not compete at all this year? Solid competitor, that's messed up.
I read more than I post..
Only prominent people who didn't run this year that I'm aware of were Paul, Issac (who purposefully sat out) and Dustin McKinney.
I highly doubt there was any sort of 'purge'.
There was one less city for qualifiers, maybe there wasn't one close and he wasn't able to get to it? Or he just didn't feel like it. Or perhaps he was injured. I doubt we'll know.
He was my favorite competitor.
shareSeriously? That's like saying plain mashed potatoes is ur favorite meal
shareHe's been one of my favorite competitors ever since I started watching the show when I was around 12. An amazing competitor with phenomenal skill and talent; very well deserving of his "Mr. Consistency" moniker. It's a damn shame ANW just dropped him the way they did, but they have all the time in the world for Kacy Catanzaro. That's so stupid.
On the bright side, at least we still have my all-time favorite, James "The Beast" McGrath!
