It would have been better if they hadn't change so many things

I liked Maleficent's backstory and her being a... not villain at all. But they changed so many things from the animated film, that ruined the film.
For example, the Prince, Phillip, didn't fit that much in this film, and felt unnecessary. They could have more scenes with him and Aurora, so they could fall in love, and then him waking her up. Maleficent didn't need to be the one to wake her up. She could have just said all she felt and apology to Aurora after she woke up, and their relationship will be the same.
But it's all Linda Woolverton's fault. I hope she won't work on future remakes. Disney is on a roll with Cinderella and The Jungle Book. And next year's Beauty and the Beast looks very good.
