Did anyone else think the first half hour actually worked?

I honestly felt it did. The visuals were nice and Maleficent was charming and her world was charming. Making her a fairy with eagle wings was a really cool idea.

It just went downhill after Stefan betrayed her. Shame. I was enjoying it until they introduced those....three.....you know what I mean. XD

"I KNOW IT'S A ROCK!"

I was fine with the Stefan betrayal. But the rest ended up just failing (the fairies especially and both the prince & princess were boring). The ultimate failure was taking away Maleficent's power to turn it into a dragon.

It would have been cool to see the prince & Maleficent (in dragon form) fighting against the king & his army.

How can people say the prince was annoying? He didn't have a chance to be anything but a prop. That is annoying yes, but his character isn't.

If he has Zero impact, how can he be annoying?

No, no, you can't take the prince out of this movie.

If you did, how would you prove that a prince is totally useless and that a princess doesn't need him? You'd lose half of the point of the movie if he wasn't there to show how totally un-needed he is.

I found the first 15 min or so really hard to sit through but once it started moving I thoroughly enjoyed it.

All for a box of chocolates...

I think that did pack a lot of beautiful settings in the first half hour which made it a treat to watch. I liked Stefan as a villain though.
