Aurora (Elle Fanning) vs. Cinderella (Lily James)

Lily James as Cinderella. Elle Fanning didn't really fit the bill.

Elle Fanning was terribly miscast and written.

Cinderella was the much more realised character. Wasn't much to Aurora, she was a supporting character though.

Elle/Aurora shes a lot prettier, not really a fan of lily james' generic face.

Aurora was barely even in Maleficnt, so by default Lily James, but even Cinderella has some questionable qualities about her character.

Its not really fair to compare these two as of course Cinderella had more depth she was the main character whereas in this one Maleficent was the main focus and Aurora was supporting. In this story it may be called Sleeping Beauty but she has always played very little part in the actual story. As for the actresses Lily James had more of a part to play than Elle Fanning did so again could show more range. I think i still prefer Elle Fanning as she played her supporting act very well and wasn't too overshadowed whereas there are parts in Cinderella where even though she is the main character she was overshadowed a little. But in general i like both just fine.

I wasn't a huge fan of either. Elle Fanning didn't get much in the way of character development. As in the original, she's more of a plot device than the main character.

Lily James has more screen time but even her character isn't terribly well developed.

I'm hoping Belle will be a better character.
